    Workshops

    April 5 and 6, 2008 -"Taking Control of Lace Weaves with Jannie Taylor"
    Each workshop participant will leave the class with their own annotated Lace Weave workbook and set of samples. Students will work on their own loom and also have the opportunity to weave samples on some of the other looms. Students will each bring a loom, pre-threaded to a design provided by the instructor.
    The workshop fee is $125 for Silverado Guild members and $150 for non-guild members. This fee includes the workbook and samples from the workshop.
    You must bring your own loom, pre-threaded to a design provided by the instructor. You will receive warping instructions when we receive payment.
    The workshop will be held at the Napa Senior Center , 1500 Jefferson Street, Napa.


    April 19-20, 2008 -Comprehensive Handspinning Workshop with Stephenie Gaustad
    This two-day workshop intends to map the territory for spinning competence: review of twist, grist, wheel mechanics and control. Then exploration into improved productivity, use of distaffs for materials other than flax, improving fiber forms, yarn design and plying. All of this with the goal of improving our choices as yarn designers and producers. Maximum 16 participants.

    with Naeda Robinson. Ms. Robinson began teaching English in Macedonia under the auspices of the U.S. Information Service in 1991. Developing an Earthwatch project in 1995 brought her in contact with the Bitola Ethnographic Museum.
